I homeschool my 9 year old son. He's very smart but reading and writing aren't his strong suits. Over this past year I've tried a lot of things to encourage reading and writing skills with so so results. My latest venture had been the Ouija board. DS is really interested with ghosts and spirits so this is right up his alley, lol.

We tried it the other day and it worked beautifully! I 'comunicated' with the spirits and he wrote down the letters and told me what they said. We practiced reading and writing for an hour before I had to tell him the spirits were tired.  Best language arts ever!

Then I made the mistake of telling my mom. She flipped and swore I was messing with things I couldn't control. She heard bad stories, yada yada yada. Then my sister joined in and warned me about demon possesion and said she would pray for me. Ah...gotta love family, lol.

For it to help your son that's awesome. I'm just very surprised he's into spirits. That's not something I'd want my boys to keep up with. Sorry but i couldn't do it. Good luck.

That's awesome that it helps your son I would have never thought if that. As far as buying the board and having it in your home everyone had their own opinions

That's awesome. It's great you found something to get him interested in reading.

There's no demons and it's just a game.

When you blindfold people using the board, the spirits suddenly lose their ability to spell, lol.

It's psychological role playing... people move it themselves subconsciously and scare themselves silly.

His grandmother is really into spirits and the afterlife so I'm pretty sure that's where he gets it from, lol.

I will not have a temper tantrum nor stomp across the floor.

I will not pout, scream or shout or kick against the door.

I will not throw my food around nor pick upon another.

I’ll always try to be real good because I am the mother.

I am the mother.

I am the mother.

Oh I'm getting desperate, lol. We're even buying him his own phone so he can text. Reading and writing are big things for me but I don't want to push him. He just learned to read this year. (Bad experiences in public school) So anything that he shows an interest in, I'm on it.
