How does your family make green beans as a side to a main dish?

I simply sauteed mine with onion and garlic and let it simmer in salt water [I didn't have any low sodium chicken broth left :( :( :(] for 25 minutes and they were delicious.  I'm in love with fresh green beans.  I want some more ideas of making them from real people!

I can't afford fresh often but when I make them, I usually just snap them in half and boil with a dollop of bacon grease, garlic and onion powder. I don't do salt of any kind for any food.

I made fresh wax beans with velevetta cheese melted over the.   I just steamed the beans until tender then melt the cheese over them.

 step 1: open can

step 2: drain

step 3: pour green beans into microwave safe bowl

step 4: add dollop of margerine

step 5: microwave for 2 1/2 minutes

step 6: enjoy
