KITE FLYING?

I bought kites for my daughters back in April but we are more rainy than windy and havent really been able to go out and do it.  I also dont even remember the last time I even flew a kit.  Is it difficult to do?  Get it in the air and not let go of the string or get near trees and powerlines??

We flew a kite over spring break and even though we had plenty of wind it was so hard to keep it in the air. I think we needed more room. We still had a total blast trying and it was beyond exciting when we got it into the air for any length of time.

Last time I flew a kite was with my son and the nephews and I refuse to do it with the nephews again. They got them stuck in tress (we don't have trees in the yard either) and had them flying down to the next road. Complete disaster.

I don't think we ever get enough wind to do it.

Flying kites is easy as long as you aren't near trees & power poles

Our kids like to do this and we normally go out to an open area.
