Our front door was open for the fan and the cat was running in and out. Then something caught my eye in the dark, just inside the doorway. I saw a shape with a long pointed tail. I was sure I was seeing a large rat. I freaked out. I turned the light on and it was actually a baby opossum like the one in the picture here. It ran off outside but I don't know where. I haven't seen them around before. Do people keep them as pets? My cat was right outside and didn't seem agitated, so I wonder if he sees them around a lot.
