I know our health should have no cost bounds but, as we all know, It does!!! I was wondering how much you spend for juicing daily?
I'm trying to get this in order so I can afford to add different items into my juicing.
My sack of carrots was 40 cents a pound, (I use maybe 1/4 #)
I get cucumbers for 60 cents a piece, (Use third)
Celery is 80 cents a bunch (use 1/4 at a time)
apple is probably 20 cents each
misc LO ingredients (30 cents daily guess)
So that is about $1 a glass of juice. Does that sound about right??
Sorry I missed this post!! Didn't mean to ignore you....
I've never calculated it. But, it definitely depends on the time of year for me. I live in WI, so produce is not in season for 1/2 the year. This time of year, it is somewhat expensive to juice, especially since our health food store doesn't sell it in bulk anymore.
Thanks Juniper I was feeling lonely LOL.....
I was mainly wondering if the cost of all these products make a difference, the types of juices one makes or how often they juice, pretty much anything that is affected by money.(and I guess region as you stated in your answer.)
I live in Cali so we have some seasonal issues but we get a lot of South America produce that is perhaps less flavorable and some more money but mainly most things are available here year round.

During our growing season, I grow asparagus, rhubarb, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, peas, and herbs. So that helps the cost a lot. I also buy from the farmer's market whenever I can which is less expensive and more flavorful.
I'm sure the cost is going to vary based on what you put in it, too. I try to mix it up a lot.
Living in Alaska it's extremely expensive to juice. Even in the summer, our local fruit/veg are very limited and still cost quite a bit. I've been trying to start a garden the past couple of years, but we haven't figured out how to keep the moose out of it yet. :( I bought enough fruit/veg to juice for my husband and myself 2 meals for a week. It was just over $150. We really want to continue, but I just don't think we're going to be able to afford it much longer. :(
So, with this info I am wondering if you can juice thawed out frozen veggies?? would it contain the same nutritional values?? Are frozen as expensive as fresh in Alaska? Or are frozen the same price as frozen whatever, wherever you are???

The price of food here is absolutely more expensive than any where else in the US (except Hawaii). Doesn't matter what it is. But frozen IS cheaper than fresh here most of the time. Using frozen food does deplete the nutrional value some, most importantly it messes with the enzymes. But we have no choice, some of the food just has to be frozen. Especially berries. Since we aren't techincally juicing (we use a vitamix) we don't even need to thaw anything that's frozen. I like to pretend that I'm still getting as much nutrional value since it doesn't have to be thawed. I know it's not true, but it makes me feel better anyway. :)
