BM upset about me not refering to her son as his mom
My SS lives with my husband and me, and sees BM every other weekend (sometimes less). I am staying home with him and raising him. Whenever BM calls I refer to her by her name instead of calling her "his mom". Now she complained about this. My husband explained to her that I am the one raising her child, doing the work of a mom and everybody of our friends sees me as his mom. Since I am the one doing the job of a mom my husband thinks that SS should also call me his mom. SS does not remember living with BM as he was very little when she left, and I came into his life earlier than she came back. So from SS's point of view I've been in his live longer than BM has.
Does she have a right to get upset when I refer to her by her name instead of calling her "his mom"?
SS calls her mom because that's how she introduced herself to him when she met him for the first time after years of absence. He did not recognize her.
