So what do you think? Did dad have a right to shoot the laptop?
I saw this morning on the Today show where a couple of "experts" thought CPS should be called. From what I gather, CPS was called and they found that dad did nothing wrong.
Apparently dad is remarried because he also mentions daughter disrespecting him, sm and bm.
Thats what I thought. Why can't parents parent their kids without CPS getting involved? (and Im not talking about abuse, kwim?)
Of course some moron would call CPS on that. He said he'd do something to the laptop if she disrespected the adults again and he did just what he said when the kid did it. How dare he go through with a punishment... CPS should take the kid away for that reason alone.
Yeah... I'm fine with it. I see nothing wrong with it.
Thats what I thought, packer. Apparently this wasnt her first offense.
OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS WAS THE BEST DAMN DISRESPECTFUL TEENAGER PUNISHMENT I HAVE EVER HEARD OF OR SAW IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS DAD KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is so hot. I am shamelessly friends with him on FB. I love his posts!
Did you see the supposed daughter video? I heard it on the radio this morning. She claims she ran away and Dad is having an affair with Aunt Lisa.
Funny thing, the daughter does not have a southern accent like Dad. I think Dad's is real because you can hear the anger in his voice. I don't think that is his daughter in the second one.
Personally, I think there are better ways to discipline. Was shooting the laptop REALLY necessary? What lesson does that teach the child? "When I'm mad at you I'm going to shoot your things" ... or how about, "If someone doesn't act right to you it's ok to disrespect their things" ... then he posts a video of it to Youtube (he works in IT, as he pointed out, so he KNOWS that Youtube videos can go viral. He also knew when he uploaded it that he didn't set it to private). Embarrasing her in front of not just her 400 something friends but thousands of others. Which teachers her what? "It's ok to be a bully to people who upset you" ??????
I also think it is NORMAL for a child to vent about the things she wrote. She is at the age where cussing to impress her friends is NORMAL. Is he going to follow her around at school and make sure she isn't writing notes that say the same thing? Just about every teenager complains about their parents. Some of my older friends have told me that if your kid doesn't complain to others then you aren't doing it right.
My question is, why did it upset him so much that his daughter vented to her friends? Was this a control issue? Does he have a history of being overcontrolling towards his daughter?
He was within his rights (it's not abuse to shoot your kids laptop) but it isn't exactly the method I would have used here.

You gotta teenage daughter? LOL!
Dad posted in a blog of his that his daughter is camera shy. He offered to let her do a response video but she declined. I'll see if I can find his blog again and I'll post the link.
One thing I do agree with is he has declined all interviews and has declined any monetary gain for this. He said that's, "Not how I'm raising my daughter".
