About to get rough

Things have been pretty smooth. BM was engaged to a what seemed to be a decent guy. She's been quiet, visits regular, fairly drama free, kids seemed to have fun. Well...knew it was too good to last. Fiancé and BM had a knock out drag out fight and he through her out on her ass with her personals on the porch in trash bags...I have a feeling she'll go off the wagon and the drama is about to dial up...oh yay!

Yeah had a long talk about adult fights, how none of it has to do with her and it's not her job to get involved or referee either, that really she should be protected from it. We talked about howit's hard to see and how to learn from this to choose a man carefully when she gets to be an adult. To get an education and be self-reliant. It at lead lead to some good discussion...

i feel ur pain my SD still talks about the time mommy got her jaw broke by one of her boyfriends it makes me cry just thinking about my SK's or any child seeing that kinnda shit.

I feel bad for my daughter but also had to use it as a teachable moment about choices. BM is staring down the barrell of her 35th birthday. She's chosen a life of drugs, criminality, and irresponsibility. She lives a life where she has no means to take care of herself, has no credit, job, money, roof over her head. She has to rely on sketchy men to take her in...no way to live, but she is an adult and does wake up every morning with the opportunity to make choices that day about her life...
