1 mom liked this
We don't separate finances and we are custodial with a bm that doesn't pay cs (although she actually filed taxes this year so we got some money.) I get paid more than he does. I can't imagine trying to keep sd's stuff separate coming off just dh's pay. that seems anal and a waste of time.

Yes, we do it together with some cs from bm. My sd lives with us fulltime. I treat her exactly like I would if I was her bm, its what's best for her.

yes and no mostly yes but only for any child that is living in our household at the time, when my SS Daniel was alive  I did almost the same things I do for SD but i do more for her-about the same is the groceries of course...I buy the groceries for the household and I pay the cell phone bill for the family-so that includes my SD and even my SS when he was alive. My other SS lives with his mom so she supports him although he has a job but still. I do buy extras for my SD since we are both girls-and we willl go clothes shopping and stuff together so I have bought her clothes and underwear and bras etc....

Nope. SO pays his own cs and whatnot.

I buy SS stuff all the time, but it's because I want to, not because I have to o because SO asks/needs me to.

For example, today I was at the store and found a shirt I knew dss would love. I chose to buy it, with my money. I don't expect so to pay me back for it, it was something I chose I buy for dss, because I love the little monster and I knew he would like the shirt.

As far as legal obligations, that's on SO.

Yes, in a way. I am a SAHM yet I do photography and lil things to do the extras they do and buy clothes. So in a small way I do. BM does not pay CS, won't even send 25 when SD asked for donation during cheerleading.

Sure do. I recently went back to work so I could help more. I don't mind at all. I don't think SS should have to suffer bc BM refuses to be responsible for him.

All the money is the same so in a sense we support each others.
