Tomorrow my SD is coming over. Any suggestions on where I can "suddenly have to be"? I do not want to be here when she comes over, to probably, ask us to watch her boy.

Shopping, dinner with a friend, library, park.

Why don't you want to be around? Why not just tell her no?

I would rather eat glass than have to listen to all of her constant complaining about her health, husband and job. She wants attention, good or bad, just some attention. And she's not going to get it from me.

Call and make an appointment at the salon. Hair then nails then dinner with a friend or by yourself. Why don't you get DH to take her out to dinner with her kid? Then you aren't run off from your house.
