I have a friend who went back to work this year for the first time in 13 years. She has three kids that are spending the summer at home sorta alone. Gma is right across street type sitch. They are 13f, 11m, 8m..
I remember being about this age and watching my younger brothers who were 11 and 1. I really don't think it is ok. I never liked it as a kid myself. Mom wasn't working, shed just go to the store or run errands or something and leave me in charge. I was definetly capable of caring for the three of us but looking back I don't think it was ok and would never leave SD12 AND DD7mo home alone together. SD12's BM leaves her home alone sometimes while going go gym for a couple hours and that worries me too..
IMO once a child is old enough to be home alone, they are also old enough to get into a world of trouble while unsupervised..
what do you think? When is it ok to leave your kids home alone? How old and for how long??
in PA u can stay home alone at 12 but u cant be in charge of other kids until 14... but givin that one is 8... i wouldnt make my daughter watch an 11 yr old and 8 yr old they r gonnna team up on her... i think she should have grandma keep an eye on them... and not from across the street... my mom left me at home from the age of 10.... and i nearly burth the house down... and i was a good kid... probably just lookin for attention cuz my mom left me home alone at 10... see my point... i dont think any good will come in that situation... and i think anytime there is a baby baby involved... sumone should def b sitting them ... just to be safe
