I tried to be the good stepmom. But ....... SD is 11 and she thinks she can run shit including the car. Well, I am beginning to be the bad stepmom because I'm tired of her damn disrespectful mouth. She says she HAS to be nice because of dh. No she DONT have to be nice to me because of dh. She should be nice because that's how she wants others to treat her. I respect her til she says something disrespectful thing to me or dh. Dh DONT do anything so I step in as someone who needs SD to teach her to respect and be nice to others.

We told SD yesterday that WE DONT HAVE THE GAS TO GO BACK AND FORTH and what she does she still goes and now she wants to come home. SD knew yesterday to basically stay home or stay there. And chose to leave. So SD thinks she can say 'well A can drive the car with out putting gas in' first off I didn't drive today and keep my name out of your and dh business.

I am confused.

Where did she go?

How did she "still go" to this place without someone to drive her in the first place?

Because the kid runs the show. They all pussyfoot around her, and then they get mad at HER.

Crappy parenting 101.

I don't feel bad for ANYONE with an 11 year old girl... unless they also feel a little bad for me also.

I'll feel bad for you if you feel bad for me...I've got two of those.

I am not. But why should I punish SD I am her SM not her BM or DAD. It should HIS responsibility to do so not mine but I stepped in to do so.

Her sister ls gave us gas to take them home that's when we told her that we didn't have gas to pick her up.

I respect her until she does something or says something disrespectful then I will tell her that its not nice or send her to her room until she says sorry for doing such and such.

It really doesn't seem like a whole lot of respect is flowing in any direction.

I would have left her where she was.

Same here-when SD11 was acting up to the point where she refused to listen to DH-he'd just toss her in the car and take her home.....if she was acting up screaming she wanted to go home....we took her home.

Even if BM said we had to take her back because she didn't wanna handle her-DH would say "it's time for you to parent YOUR daughter-so deal!"

Do you have a sense of humor or are you always this stuffy?

My condolences... I thought one was bad (some days.  Today is a good day.  The 9 year old boy?  Good. Gravy.  I think they get together and work it out so that they have their own days to do this.  At least they're nice about it... if nice is the right word)

I feel fortunate that they take turns...but sometimes they like to put a little "twist" in their fun and go at it at the same time.  I'm going to have to go into their room and see if they have a calendar white board with times/dates on it...it would confirm my suspicions about them!
