What's been your experience and what state are you in?
CA.....BM gave the kids up. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. that was my experience. she gave the kids over to their dad and then went psycho like he kidnapped them and all sorts of crazy shit. lol.
DH was given custody because of CPS. Before BM was found to be an abuser there was no way DH would have been given custody because the state is pro BM's.

yeah you're reading it correctly. once she signed the papers saying that the kids no longer lived with her the state stopped taking cs out of dh's check and she flipped her lid and said they were kidnapped blah blah blah. we had the court papers. they wanted to go back with her so dh let them go back that was a year ago and now ss realized how different things are and is back living with us. mind you they are teenage kids. so that changes things.

DH has custody of two of his kids. BM kicked SS out at the age of 9 and SD came to live with us a year later...she was 12. BM still has 3rd SS with her. Now that she doesn't have the other two, she has all kinds of money to spoil SS3 with. Plus, at the age of 11, he is old enough to make his own decisions. (Forgot to mention....she doesn't pay any child support for the two that live with us.)
He was all geared up for a court battle. Lawyered up. Date set.
His lawyer sent Bm a list of multiple reasons why Dh was filing and Bm got scared and called me crying.
She said she would sign over custody if I promised to help her.
So I called the lawyer (who didn't believe me btw) and picked up all the paper work the following Monday.
We live in OKlahoma... Dh has had custody. They went to court and all. But in OK if you file first you have a better shot of getting the kid, and BM hung herself in court. She had a horrible attorney and made wild, crazy, accusations at Dh.
The papers say he won custody because she moved 5 hrs away and with dh having custody there was "more support" for the child.
