SS asked his father and i for a baby brother now that he has his 1yr old sister from us. Um, how does someone even respond to that? I could expect him to ask BM, but asking me???

I do NOT think its an issue or weird.

I don't think it's strange. I would have just smiled and said maybe one day.

I didn't say you did. I was just making a statement.

this is what I'm thinking.

He probably asked you since you all have one.  It's typical of kids to ask for another sibling.  My boss' son wants a little brother.  His little sister just turned a year old.  They told him "No, not right now."

I'm not surprised. You just had a child, I am assuming Bm did not. Depending on his age, he just may automatically think of you when thinking of a new sibling because of the baby you already have.
