JUST A COURTESY NOTE THAT I'M CANCELING MY CM ACCOUNT SO THIS POST MIGHT DISAPPEAR... that's all, carry on, thanks for the responses :)

Just a general question that I'm interested to hear how people feel. Let's say BM has primary custody BD has 2 days per week. And for all intensive purposes SK, BD and SM feeeel and act like they are a family. (SM and BD are married btw) Would you consider SM to be part of SK's family or are only BM and BD SK's family? Guess it depends on how you define family: blood, legally or by how you feel...
What do you guys think??

My opinion, yes DH, SM, Sk's and any biological kids (of sm) are a a family. A blended family.

We are a family. When my ss is with us, I'm the primary care taker. His teachers know me, Damn right i I'm family. I treat him like he's my son.

There is no one answer to this question. Too many variables.

It's different for everyone, and that's OK ;)

It would depend on how you treat the skids. In my case we are a blended family. We all get along including bm. My ds will even give bm hugs and kisses when she comes and gets sd.

Yes, my SD is my family and I am hers. My sister is her aunt, my dad is her grandpa, etc... We've raised her this way, so she doesn't know differently.

I think yes. Aunts and uncles are family by marriage. If a man and a woman marry they become family, and subsequently share family ties with eachothers family.

*intents and purposes

Stepparents don't start out as family, but as the relationship grows, they may become family.

For us, yes. SK's even call my mom Mammaw. BM knows this and is completely okay with it. They get to have a huge family.
