So as many of u know bm allowed sd9 to drive her car and sd had an accident got a black eye and hasn't gone to see bm sence. She's suppose to go Friday but tonight I had to take sd to see a behavior health specialist they told me she has to do 3 days a week of intensive out patient therapy. CPS is taking there sweet ass time getting a hold of bm and telling us what they are going to do so I finally talked dh into allowing me to call family court and seeing if there is anything that can be done while we wait for DFS because even he is staying to understand why I don't fell safe sending her back to bm until we know what the state is going to do. My only question is who does he call about this. I told him he has to make the calls because he has final say and he asked me to ask on here who to call our to call around tomorrow and see then give him a few numbers. We don't have a lot of money and our attorney said 1500 to do it. I know u can't put a number on a kids safety but when u don't have it what do u do? We are still working on this but my poor sd went to bms for the weekend and came back saying her uncle is blaming her for the car accident and she is saying it's all her fault. I told dh and he agreed that she needed to talk to bm and bm needs to tell her straight forward that it is not her fault. She needs to be the adult and take responsibility for this so sd doesn't hold this guilt in.

Please help me. If something doesn't happen by Friday I think the stress might kill me so much I might have to be seen by someone.

Can he contact CPS and ask for the supervisor? The court is likely not going to help you. They don't give legal advice. They might be able to tell you where to find the forms for file for an emergency hearing. Which is what I would do if I didn't have a lawyer. I would file for an emergency order - however too much time might have passed unless you file and state that CPS is involved. Honestly not sure what the right legal channels are here. I hope someone can help.

So it seems he isn't really that concerned that BM will repeat the stupid mistakeshe made ... and you just can't let go! No wonder you are stressed!

He wasn't concerned until sd went to the hospital last night. Now that she expressed what's going on with the nightmares and the guilt she is carrying.

Ok I'm sure that'd be a good step to put on the pressure.

1 mom liked this

You don't need an attorney to file a motion. DH can file an ex parte asking for supervised visits. Make sure to include proof.. Police report, ect. Look up state specific on Ex Parte. Some states have a paper you can use, some you have to write the motin out.

This.

Go to your county's/parish's clerk of court's website.  They usually have forms for certain things as well as the filing fees for same.

Really, all this over BM letting her drive the car?

I was actually thinking about taking DS (9) out for a driving lesson in a local (empty) parking lot the other day.  He'd done such a great job with the lawn and doing his chores on time, and he's past the age I was when my parents started teaching me.  I thought it would be a nice way of rewarding him for showing such maturity.  If we had a different car, I probably would have done it, but there's no way to disengage my car's airbags, and he's a little too short to be safe if they went off if he hit a curb wrong or something.

I get it that you disagree with this decision of BM's.  And I think it was irresponsible if she had her on a normal public road.  But it isn't like a super-crazy thing.  Almost every child around here starts getting driving lessons WELL before the legal permit age of 15.  Some children DS's age spend half their summer driving tractors!

You think she might be carrying guilt because you are WAY over reacting to an incident where she wasn't even seriously injurred?
