Had a convo with another member about this, it got me thinking and wondering how many of us actually do kiss our step kids. I don't know if I'm just the minority here, but I'm curious.

If you do, what age are they,
will you kiss them into adulthood?
Would you want sm kissing your child?
Do you kiss lips?
What age did you start kissing them?
Has it caused problems?

If you do not, why don't you?
Do you hug?
What age are they?
Have you ever kissed them?
Do you think it's appropriate ?
Has lack of affection caused problems?

I do not kiss my sk and never have. 1, I don't feel comfortable . I entered their lives when they were well past babies, 5, 7, and I couldn't see myself just jumping in for a kiss. I do not try to parent them and never have so our bond is much different. 2. They are not affectionate kids, don't kiss their dad and barely do hugs , and that's a PARENT. lastly its just not me, or how I was raised. My Sp never was kissy to me so that might have some influence. I am very affectionate and kiss my dd non stop but she's mine lol. I will kiss her until she's blue in the face

Sd12 .......We do the cheek kiss
SS7 we fist bump or throw up the peace sign

I kiss their foreheads or cheeks. Same with my daughter.

And if they tell me to stop,I"ll stop.

My DH kisses DD (his SD) on the forehead/cheek everyday.

DD's exSM use to do the same thing (EOWE)- I never minded. I'm not sure about the new girlfriend. I've only seen her a handful of times and always at a distance but she never has acknowledged DD's presence (around me).

I do kiss her.

She's 13 (I've been in her life she was 1 1/2)
I don't know if I'll keep kissing her into adulthood, probably.
My bio-kids don't have a SM, I think that it would depend on how my kids felt about SM kissing them. I have friends that kiss them.
SD and I kiss each other on the cheeks
I guess SD was about 2 or so when I started kissing her on the cheek.
It's never caused any problems.

Nope. No kisses. That always seemed odd. DH and I've been together for almost 11 years. SSs are 22 and 20 now so they were older when I came into their lives. Plus they are boys and not lovey huggy. I wonder if it would've been diff had the been girls. We do hug tho, hello hugs and good bye hugs.

I've always kissed SS on the forehead. I came into the picture when he was three, and he was very affectionate then. He's six now and isn't as affectionate with me anymore. Now I only kiss him on the forehead on the rare occasions that wants me to tuck him in, or when he's sick.

I don't like kissing on the mouth, even with biokids.

I don't, but I'm not a big kisser either. I'm also not huge on hugs, though I'll give and receive those whoever wants/needs one.

I used to when they were babies. Not anymore though. I just don't have much affection for them.
