ss8 has been playing with poop

Soooo, ss8 forgets to flush sometimes and doesn't wipe though we remind and encourage and ask after and send him back to do the paperwork etc.

So tonight I see he pooped and of course no wipe is in the toilet. Ugh. But there are poop smears on the seat. Wtf how did he get it on his hands with out wiping? So I ask......

Wait for it...,....

He says he likes to feel the poop as its coming out. I clarified with him that he in fact IS feeling with his hands, fingers. Yep.

I guess the "muddy" finger prints all over lately arent necessarily mud.

I ask him how the poop got on the seat..... he says he had to "clean" his hands off after using the bathroom.
He is not embarrassed. Doesn't get why he should be.

Is this normal for boys???? I know they eat buggers, lick toads, break things and play in mud.....but poop? Really?

Also he had years of potty training. YEARS. He has been handling his own business for 4 years or so. How does he not know how this works???

None of my kids have ever played with poop. That's nasty.

My dd10 is SN and she has never done this. My ss7 has never done this. My brother did up until 7yrs of age. We are talking full wall decorations.

No.  I do not think this is normal.  I've only heard of kids witht disorders doing that type of thing,

I don't know if that's normal. YSS11 isn't the neatest in the bathroom. He has terrible aim and a few weeks ago there were smudges on the seat??? Not sure how that happened. Just made him clean it up.

Oh for the love of God.

I would want to spray the entire house with lysol.

I imagine it is probably "normal" (kids have no concept of germs), but thank God none of my kids ever did that.

No this is not normal.  Does he have sensory issues?  How about getting a squishy toy or gak that he can play with instead?
