Just curious anyone change anything in regard to cs to the BM when a skid is out of BM'S home off to college?
Just seems shitty that bm is getting the money for sd food clothing shelter and she's living in the dorm from tomorrow thru May. She has full unlimited meal plan weekly allowance of $50-$100. All For anything else she might need. All provided by college fund set up by BM s parents for all their grandchildren

Just curious how other families worked this out ???

Is it not agreed that cs stops when the child is out of the home or turns 18?

Legally, CS will be paid to SS when he turns 18, and DH is the only parent planning for college so BM will be a non-factor in 5 years.

Sd is 17 this is first year do college. Sd will be in dorm for about 9 months. I do believe that in the divorce agreement it said it would be "revisited at such time the children go to college ". Just wondering how others dealt with this. Dh will do anything to keep bm from threatening to take him to court

So it's in the divorce agreement ? The cs goes to the skid in college?

How does this work with parents who were never married. If Dh never got a CO written up, does CS stop at 18/hs grad or can the courts decide to make him keep paying CS?

Super curious now...

How is he doing CS then? Is it a mutual verbal thing or is his CS payments thru the court?

They were never married, once the child turns 18 they are legally an adult and can receive the CS payments themselves. I live in another country so it is probably different from certain States in the US.

But if he does go to court he can let them know that she is in college and the payments should change if she lives in a dorm and they provide everything for her. That's just pretty much pocket money for BM at this point

Dh also believes that he can be held responsible for half of the college tuition even though there is an enormous college fund for sd. Her tuition is about $40,000 a year where she is going

CS is through the court, visitation is currently a verbal agreement.
