BM leaves a message on DH phone that her wallet got stolen and an old ID card of his -that she had in her wallet- an ID that has his SS # - was in it.

He said he didn't care let me talk to the kids.

Wtf would you hVe your ex husbands ID with his info in your wallet ? You have been divorced four years and it's expired?

He told me this and I didn't push it but on the way to work it popped into my head : that's a wierd . What about identity theft ?

What do you think?

Why did he let her have the ID to begin with?

Why doesn't he just ask her? None of us are going to know why she has that. It was pointed out to me on another post about social security numbers that insurance companies use that info as the ID number. Mine never has but maybe she keeps it for insurance purposes.

If he were to die, it's info she would need to file social security for the kids. If there is a child support order, that number is flagged by the withholding order so maybe she felt she needed it for those purposes. Who knows.

I don't have my exh's ID in my wallet, but I do have his SSN and his DL number. He has mine too. Kind of crazy to have it on her at all times. Whats the point of that??

The id is weird. Ss to me is also weird considering I know xh by heart.
He should question her.

2 moms liked this

Too funny.  I know my ex's by heart yet I can't remember DDs.  Forget about DHs.

Young childless brains memorize better.

As far as the ID, she may just never clean out her purse.  Or she still has feelings for him and the ID is sentimental.  Or something else.

If he isn't concerned, I would try to let it go.  What can you do anyway?

I know my xh (together almost 14 years)
My oldest son, and my SO.
The rest of the kids are saved on a memo in my phone :)
