My step daughter Stacy got the news this morning, she is pregnant and is glad her boyfriend Jake is taking responsibilty instead of leaving her.Jake and Stacy are both 19 years old and knew they should of thought it over before having unprotected sex the second time.Jake and Stacy have been dating for 5 monthes and this was the 2nd time they had sex, first one was protected.Jake knew he forgot to bring a box of brand new condoms he bought the day before. This will be her first child and his second. He has a 2 year old son from a previous relationship and he is good dad to his son seeing him on weekends.Good thing is my husband is glad Jake has stepped up to the plate and taking responsibility.I plan on helping helping her out and gave her one piece of advice so far, babies don't come with an instruction manual and she knows that.Said if it is a girl, name it after me honoring me in a good way.

If you think they have had sex twice you all are pretty naive.

Congrats he didn't bail?

What does " taking responsibilty instead of leaving her" mean?

My advice, plan on filing a motion for paternity and child support the day after the birth. Have the papers all filled out and ready to file.

He's not sticking around.

Just my crystal-ball prediction.

Wait and see.

He'll want nothing to do with that baby until his new girlfriend convinces him that he has "rights". Then he'll file for visitation.

Seen this story a million times.

Soon-to-be-momma better get her ducks in a row.

I am glad Jake has stayed so far, but in my experience dont expect that necessarily. Also is he only a weekend dad with his other son, or is he involved with all aspects of his son's life. Is he current on child support? Was he always involved or only after mother went after child support? What is the mother of the other child like? If they just got the news, then it is all still sinking in and no one knows what they are going to be doing. Hope for the best, and expect the worst. Sorry but males and females at that age having children is rough. Yes they can do it and be successful but their life just got harder.
