Before I go into detail, does anyone have experience with this "vitamin" for children?

No, sorry.  I've never heard of it.

Even after Googling it (because Google knows all, right), I still have never heard of it.  Sorry.

Not with children, but I've tried it.  Didn't do much for me.

Did you have any adverse reactions?

Nope, I noticed literally zero change, and I gave it a full month. Switched to Sam-E, which is more expensive but seems to help my mood a lot more.

My ss's counselor recommended it. Lowest dose possible, it has made a huge impact on his attitude. He is back to his positive happy self while on it, but you can literally see when it wears off that he instantly goes back to being very negative and arguementative.
I can't find info regarding children and was hoping to get a better understanding of it from others.

There are studies that suggest SAMe is more effective than 5HTP in adults as an adjunct, but in children it appears to have minimal side effects.

Here's one study for adults if interested.
