Strange Experience

I posted this yesterday in a couple of hauntings / psychic groups I'm a part of.  But now I'm wondering, since it was the alter and the energy at the alter that first drew my attention, if this might have been a god/goddess rather than a spirit that was trying to get my attention?  Any thoughts?

Here is my story:

I stopped at our local Chinese restaurant yesterday to order take out. As I waited I noticed the oranges they had placed at the alter in their entry way were the most vibrant orange color, almost glowing with energy. I couldn't take my eyes off them. While I gazed at them, I got a very heavy feeling in my chest and a huge amount of energy at the back of my neck. I've had similar feelings when I've done energy work and grounding on my son (who does claim to see spirits, guides, and angels -but being nonverbal, he hasn't been able to describe his experiences to me). I have also felt a similar sensation in my chest while looking at some of the pictures in this group. But yesterday, I wasn't looking for anything paranormal - just thinking about getting home with the food in time to eat before my meeting.

I did not ask anyone at the restaurant if they had reason to believe anything was going on ( I didn't want to freak anyone out and I don't have enough experience to really read my own sensations yet). Does this experience sound familiar to anyone here? When ds is agitated and I get these same sensations while concentrating on him, do you think I might actually be sensing something or someone other than him - the same thing that is agitating him.

How do I learn to better understand the various energy waves I sense?

Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Oh wow! That's quite an experience. I have no idea what it means but I'm sure it means SOMETHING.

I'm not sure why I went right to ghost and didn't think deity - I will meditate on this tonight and see if I get any other insight.

I would say meditation and asking is the best answer.

A mom in another group found this for me:

Here is the meaning behind the oranges........maybe that will help you to tune into your gifts :)

Fruits are temple offerings. Did you ever wonder why? What about oranges? Did you get any this past Chinese New Year holiday? Were they fresh? The Chinese love fruits, they like them big and beautiful, and they prefer fresh fruits, though sugared ones are common at this time of year. Fresh fruit at the New Year symbolizes life and a new beginning. Sugared ones are a wish for a sweet year. Traditionally, the pomelo, mandarins or what we call the tangerine or clementine, as well as limes, bananas, pineapple, and water or winter melon are seen as temple offering.

The orange is a prayer or wish for good fortune. That is why it is probably the most common food offering. As a harbinger of wishes for good luck, they are often eaten on the second day of the New Year. Why not the first, because once an Emperor distributed oranges to his officials on the second day of the New Year. Thus you are also wishing for officialdom if you eat them on this day.
