On July 1, 1867, Canada became a self-governing dominion of Great Britain and a federation of four provinces: Nova Scotia; New Brunswick; Ontario; and Quebec. The anniversary of this date was called Dominion Day until 1982. Since 1983, July 1 has been officially known as Canada Day.
Sarnia always does Canada Day up big. Always think about it every year. I loved watching the trampoline artist or another year the water skier out on the bay doing their antics. I love the fireworks they shoot up over the water.
What will you be doing on Canada Day this year? Will you go to the festivities in town? Will you participate in the parade? Will you be all dressed up in red and white in honour of our country? Will you have a picnic and enjoy the festivities at Canatara Park?
Sarnia is such a grand place. I really miss it sometimes.
