Do you do this? Why or why not?

Are there any bills, recurring expenses you still write checks for?

I don't, I'm not sure why... I just like seeing my bill then setting up the payment myself I guess.

I don't write checks. I have a few automatic bills, but they are all ones that i don't have a choice on. I don't like automatic bills because i always forget about them. So what we do is have a separate account, and each month an allotment is put into that account that will cover all the automatic bills for the month. We don't use it for much else.

I only have two bills that are auto-paid.  Car insurance and Netflix.

I do automatic payments for the car loan, the 529, and thats it.

I pay the rest online, everything except church, thats gets a check.

I get paper bills and pay them online.    No auto deducts for me, and online bills bug me - must be an age thing..   And - every single payday I still check to make sure the money is there.

We are retired military - so our retirement check is deposited the first business day of the month - sometimes as late as the 3rd.   So - there are times our mortgage has to go out on th 4th (because the bank withdraws always before it deposits).   Never a late fee from the mortgage co.
