Ever since my dd was on SSI a few years ago .. Ive been saving reciepts. I don't have to now but then I did..

but I've gotten in to the habit that now it's hard to break it.. lol

It's good and bad... good meaning I will have on if something needs to be taken back.. but bad because they add up in my bill fold.

do you ever save yours and if so how long till you throw them away?

I know I should be better about saving them but usually only save bigger ticket items or items that I'm in question about. Otherwise I keep reciepts about a week or so.

I keep any receipt until it clears the bank.  I also keep a separate checkbook for child support and for alimony.  I have to prove at the end of the year what I spent the money on, and only spending out of their own checking accounts helps a great deal.  I keep sales receipts for large ticket items that I buy, in case I need to make a warranty claim. Those I keep in a large ziploc bag with all the owners manuals, etc.

I save them until I can no longer return the items on the receipt.

I usually only save receipts for big ticket items or items that we bought a warranty for.

I save some- like bigger purchases or something I might need/want to take back

I throw away smaller ones- like groceries, meals out, gas..I always tear them up before I throw them away
