Pantry organization. Crock pot. Movie Night. All ways to make a little change to really save some money. I'm back with Number 8 and this is a biggie: working out at home.

Not only will working out at home save you the cost of that monthly gym membership or gas to drive to the community center, getting healthier and getting into a workout routine can save you hundreds of dollars in health care costs. Think of those at-home workouts as preventative medicine for your body and your savings account.

Follow these ideas and in the words of Hans and Franz, we're gonna pump (clap) you up!

-- Invest in the tools. You don't necessarily need an elliptical trainer or a treadmill. Get a few hand weights, a mat and resistance bands, all of which totaled together are still less than the amount to fill your gas tank for two weeks of driving to the gym.

-- Do your research. Before you buy those workout DVDs, rent them from Netflix or the library. Whether it's Zumba or pilates or an old-school basic workout DVD, find the ones that really click and get you sweating before you pay for them.

-- Think like a kid. Hijack your kids Wii and pop in one of the great fitness games they offer. Run around outside in the yard, grab that jump rope and get the heart rate up. Hula-hoop for 15 minutes and work those abs.

-- Get a buddy. Talk to your neighbor or that mom at drop-off and see who wants to work out with you. Even if it is once or twice a week, walk around the neighborhood or do a DVD workout together. It will keep you motivated, trust me.

Share your favorite at-home workout idea!

Definitely use the Netflix workout videos because I have never used a workout DVD beyond the first month after buying it.  So sad.  With Netflix, you can get variety and see if you actually enjoy the workout before committing to it.  :)

I have a gym membership, but I really like to workout at home. I have a treadmill in our basement. I have netflix, which is great, becuase at naptime for my son, I turn on the tv and use my kindle to do a workout video. I love it!

I also have a lot of handweights and little stairstepper. The little stairstepper I got from the Kmart influencer program right here on Cafemom, and I love it.
