Tally ho! Cheerio! How's this world tour of treats treating you? Brilliant! I've got more. I've never been to London, though I do fancy myself a bit of an Anglophile (one who kind of adopts British mannerisms and adores all things English). I got up early to watch Princess Diana marry Prince Charles back when I was a girl and yes, about a year ago, I totally watched the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Twice. I often use English curse words and really, doesn't everything sound better with an English accent (or with David Beckham talking about it)?
So, here are a few treats for you to indulge in, when you feel al little wonky about not jetting to distant (or even nearby lands) for vacation. Think about how you are saving money, while you add a royal English touch to our day.
-- Fix yourself a cup of delightful tea. They have this down to a science over in England. One of my favorite blends is Lady Gray, but my mum, er, mom prefers English Breakfast. Maybe treat yourself to a new teacup - better yet, have a real tea party with your daughter.
-- Keep calm and carry on. This phrase is popping up everywhere. Based on the posters that were used in Britain during the Second World War to boost the spirits of the public. Why not boost your own mood every day? Check out this cute pendant necklace or tote bag.
-- Channel your inner Kate (Middleton). The someday queen definitely has a great sense of style. Adopt a few pieces into your wardrobe. A classic wrap dress that accentuates your waist, a blazer paired slim jeans, the trench coat all are favorites of our gal Kate.
-- Read some Paddington Bear books. That little bear with the yellow rain hat was born over in England. His cute stories have lasted the test of time for a reason. Have you shared them with your kids yet?
-- See some of our favorite English men with some fun English-inspired movies. Take your pick of these lovely lads and curl up with some popcorn and enjoy. Think any from the James Bond franchise or the essential Hugh Grant flicks like Nottington Hill, Bridget Jones Diary or Four Weddings and a Funeral.

I have been to England. To London right before the Queen's Golden Jubilee and then to Salisbury and Stonehenge. Was included in the Making of the Mayor, a parade of the officials with their robes and chains of office.
I bought a hat to fit in when I attend the church service for the Queen's Golden Jubilee and a lunch with Prince Edward and Lady Sophia before the service. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity with such great memories.
We had tea with our host family every day. Didn't have the chance to go to one of the fancy "High Teas" at one of the hotels. That was too expensive.
Got to go to a couple of Pubs, had dinner at one.
Want to go back again. Everywhere it was green and just the right temp. Not too hot or too cool. Yes it did rain every day, but it wasn't the miserabledownpours like here and it didn't last long.
So many places I want to see. so many things I want to do there. Loved the train rides too, but next time will know to reserve a seat ahead of time. its not like our trains where you have a ticket so you have a seat. Each seat had a name and the stop where they were getting on and off. So we just had to move around at some of the stops.
My grown children & I visited London in July 2010 & I would love to go back. It is a very beautiful city & the countryside is gorgeous. The people were "friendly" but not like they are in the south USA. We live in Louisiana & the BP spill was all over the news, at that time.....Several "brits" apologized to us for the oil spill & what it did to our coast. Great city, but I can't even imagine where they are going to put all those people for the Olympics in July 2012.
I went to London ten years ago and I've been wanting to go back ever since. I somewhat follow the Royals. I loved Diana but I was too young to remember her wedding. I did watch William and Kate's wedding last year with my 3 year old little girl who is named Kathyrn and thought it was pretty cool that there was a Princess with the same name as her. I love tea of all kinds, hot or iced.
Fog in England is no worse than fog in other countries and they do actually have sunshine. If you're thinking about the famous old London fog (smog), well that's been gone for many years since burning coal was banned.
I drink mostly English Breakfast, Darjeeling or Rooibos (South African red tea)
Quoting Kelly913:I do enjoy a good English accent and we're just about done listening to The Secret Garden on CD, but London doesn't rank very high on my travel list. Maybe English countrysides at a time of year that has less fog and gloomy skies...
My favorite tea is Tazo's passion tea.
