Quoting e.sugarbaby:

Can you share your ketchup recipe?

6 oz. can tomato paste

1/2 c. honey

1/2 c. white vinegar

1/4 c. water

1 Tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. onion powder

1/8 tsp. garlic powder

Whisk together all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for about 20 minutes.  Let cool.  Refrigerate until needed.

We raise our own beef and pork, have hens for eggs and goats for milk and I make most of our own dairy products.  We belong to a CSA for a portion of our produce.  We're also part of a produce rescue and a lot of that goes to feeding our animals.  I buy the majority of everything else thru Azure Standard online.  The few things we buy at the store don't seem to have gone up.

Last pay check ( 2 weeks ago this Friday, I went shopping that saturday) a local store had an anniversary sale and I got most of my groceries for two weeks for $125.00.  Meat wise I still have 5 or 6 lbs chicken breasts, 2 pkg smoked sausages and 2 or three lbs hamburger left.

They opened in 1981 so they had a lot of 81 cent stuff like watermelon was 5 lb for 81  cents, milk $1.81 per gal, roast (I had cut into steaks and got two meals out of) $2.81/lb etc.

I love Aldi's too and I would have to agree with you that they don't open early enough but as much as it's a pain sometimes I think it's wonderful they give their employees holidays.

meal planning and making a list and sticking to it. buying cheaper cuts of meat and making portion size smaller. which is a good thing because i am losing wt and i need to.  getting less snacks for the kids and making them eat whats on their plate and try new things, so we dont have to cook more than one meal. also buying generic.
