So, yes, we can talk about doing free or close-to-free fun things about town on in your home, but what about little ways to save up money for some fun that costs more than close-to-free fun? Where do we find those bits of extra cash that can add up to a lot of cash...or at least enough for some extra ice cream cones?
-- Make a change jar. We've heard this one a lot and it can be a fun and good way to find some extra bucks to do some small things. Empty your purse and pockets whenever you get home and by the end of the week, see what you have.
-- Use the right amount of stuff. From soap to shampoo, dishwashing liquid to laundry detergent, use the right amount. Many of us use too much, which means we get to that empty bottle faster, which means we have to buy more...which costs money. Buy using a good amount each time, you can save some bucks. Put that $4.99 you would usually have to use on buying that soap too soon into the Fun Fund.
-- $10 Set-Aside. Whenever you get a $10 put it in an envelope until you reach a goal (maybe $50 or $100). Use that for fun money
-- Plan ahead. This is usually what trips many of is up - last minute purchases or on the go buys that we could have avoided if we had just planned ahead a little more diligently.
How are you finding extra dollars for summer fun?

Every payday we deposit a small amount into the savings for the summer.
Another way to save is to go to the dollar store for cleaning and other household supplies. I have a strict budget to live on, yet because of doing to Dollar Tree for many things (or buying in bulk at grocery store for TP and laundry soap) I have managed to save over $200 already.
Our boys work hard selling things for boyscouts to have money in their camp accounts. This normally pays for all the scouting camps we go to which is one a month 12 months a year. Doing this works for us as we are both active in our boys troop, and if boy their dad and I go on the camping trip we can bring our daughter so the whole family is together, having fun.
Groupon is awesome. I found half price tickets to a local amusement park and another place that has bounce houses.
Cooperate with other moms. A friend of mine has a zoo membership, so my kids and I get in free. We bring the picnic lunch and pay for gas, so everybody gets to have fun on a budget.
Find out if your local county fair has a sneak preview night. Last year, my family got into the carnival for half price on Sneak Peak night.
Have a great day!

( check them out in your town) we also buy up a ton of buy a dinner get one half off in some of our favorite restaurants.
Mean while me & my adult daughters & kids will have plenty to do this summer. We're planning a road trip to the North East with 5 of the grand children for about 3 week lake george Ny and NYC & VT. Then 4 of the other grand hildren are going to france 3 weeks with DIL with their Maternal gram and the others will be spending some time with their paternal grand parents in other States. So it should be a great summer for all of us....As long as DH does well during surgery. :-)
I started Network Marketing, so far this summer it has paid for my electricity bill, gas bill and cell phones bills... I am liking it and the best part is that I can spend the time with my kids.
