Back to School Countdown Day 1: Size Up Supplies
Before you go out and buy new pens, pencils, notebooks and binder, go through last year's supplies. See what you can reuse and what you'll need to buy new. This will prevent you from buying items that you might have around the house already.
What are you able to repurpose? What's on your list to buy new?

My oldest is starting Kindergarten, so there wasn't anything we could really repurpose. I could have sent him with a pair of safety scissors that we already have, but I really want 2 pairs at home since I have 2 boys (ages 5 & 3) and once a week have 2 extra kids (ages 5 & 2).
But we will definitely repurpose what we can after this!
ETA: Augie will be using the backpack he used for 2 years of preschool for Kindergarten. He wanted to (YAY!) and it is still in very good shape. I did have to get a backpack for my 3 yo who is starting preschool.
we have six glue stix to use from last year and a book bag. i need to get binders and paper.
I had to buy everything new because this is my daughter's first year of school!
The last couple of years we re-used backpacks, pencil bags, big brothers binders, and scissors. Everything was just not reuseable this year. The only thing I think I should have and could have reused was thier science composition notebooks. Which could have been pretty cool for them to re-use because that information would be there to review and use.
This year I already purchased everything new. There were a bunch of coupons in the newspaper for school supplies this year!
