Back to School Countdown Day 4: Planning for Extras
From music lessons and art supplies to sport equipment and trips, there are all kinds of extra costs during the school year. Make a list of everything your kids will participate in and what you'll need to budget for. What do your kids participate in?
How much will you spend on extracurricular activities this year?

We go through the parks and rec for extracurricular activities, so it's not that expensive. I would say less than $200. We are putting my 3.5 year old in soccer in the fall, gymnastics in the winter, and maybe something to do with art in the spring since she is not old enough for our local league's t-ball softball. :(
The only extra we are doing is football & its pretty costly :) so far we spent almost 400 but my son is loving it so its all for him.
We have 6 kids, 5 in school, and 5 that are very active in extracurriculars. I have never done a yearly total but with cheerleading, dance, volleyball, softball, baseball (x3), soccer (x2), football, and basketball (x3). I would say around $1300/yr maybe...?
He is still undecided on what sport he wants to play. I do have $500 set a side for any extra school functions.
We just moved to another area so not sure what they will be doing and how much it will cost yet.
Dd is doing baby gymnastics -$100 for classes plus whatever mileage to drive the 45 minutes there.
