This yr they will be homeschooled and will be eating all lunches at home. Sometimes lunch will be leftovers from the night before. Other times it will simply be sandwiches and fruit or yogurt.

We do about 75% of home lunches and the rest utilizing the school lunches.  I think we probably spend more on our lunches but our girls' are so picky and this way I can get cheese/deli meat on their goldfish whole wheat bread, fruit or box of raisins and a fat free dessert.  They like dipping veggies in dip as well .  They both like bottled water so freeze them and take one out for each daughter for lunch when they thaw, same with gogurt!  So I do spend more on cold lunches but at least I know they're not throwing everthing they don't like which is what they do!!!  Our school lunches cost around 2.50 a day with bottled water being extra and I don't like paying 3.00 for them to only eat a piece of pizza or a hot dog for lunch and they throw out everything else.  I also bought at Costco these tiny ketchup containers that you see at the fast foods and fill them up with ketchup or mustard (whatever the prefer) and they have covers on them.  I do put a piece of scotch tape across each side so it for sure doesn't spill!

I used to have them get the hot lunches but they know its expensive and we have talked over the price of lunches.

The kids both buy and bring. They get to go through the lunch menu and pick what they would like or what days o bring

My daughter is just going into preschool and it is only a half day program so she will be eating lunch at home this year.  After that I am sure we will make lunches for the most part not only to save money but so that I have a clue what she is eating.  My husband does pack a lunch though (or I do for him) to save money as well.

My dd eats school lunch but my ds is a lot more picky so sometimes he eats school lunch and sometimes he brings it from home if their serving something he doesn't like. Its $2 a day per kid so I usually pay $80 a month.

School lunch is about $2. My ds never finishes it so its a waste. I pack him a lunch and whatever is left is his after school snack
