Help.... I am going to a potluck on Saturday and need recipe ideas.
The host is vegetarian and asked me to bring something that has meat in it since no one else is veg. I need inexpensive, can be made in advance, easy and tasty.
I have only been when people had a more specific request or theme.... appetizers, side dish, Mexican, Italian.... she was to vague.... "Bring something to share".... that I have no idea what to bring. Leaning toward baked ziti.
Quoting Stevensmomma:
I have never done one or even been to one so I am no help sorry

Here is a Baked Spaghetti Recipe that I use alot for Pot Lucks. It travels well.
1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 eggs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cups small curd cottage cheese, divided
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir beef and onion until meat is browned and onions are soft and translucent, about 7 minutes. Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt.
- Whisk eggs, Parmesan cheese, and butter in a large bowl. Mix in spaghetti to egg mixture and toss to coat. Place half the spaghetti mixture into baking dish. Top with half the cottage cheese, mozzarella, and meat sauce. Repeat layers. Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake until the cheese is melted and lightly browned, 20 to 25 minutes longer. Makes 8 servings.

- 8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
- 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. dry ranch dressing mix
Wash
and dry chicken breasts and place them evenly in bottom of crock pot.
Sprinkle with paprika and the package of dry ranch dressing mix. Cut 2
Tbsp. butter into small pieces and distribute evenly over chicken
breasts. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.Melt
1 Tbsp. butter. Add cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, garlic, and
dry ranch dressing mix. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Pour over
