My kiddo loves finding lucky pennies (her best place to find them - Starbucks. People always drop a few and don't bother to pick them up). She gets one and sticks it in my purse or her backpack and then chunks it into her piggy bank. She loves her piggy bank - and what kid doesn't? I have found that this is a great gift for kids, especially those that are becoming aware of money and coins and playing all of those money games we've been talking about. Here are a few that are extra piggy-rific.
The Pig with a Lesson Bank - This is the kind my kiddo has: the Money Savvy Pig. With four different slots and sections (save, spend, donate, and invest), it is big and cute and the perfect visual lesson on how to deal with money.
The Non-Pig Bank - For those kids that aren't into pigs, per se. This owl one is hoot-tatstic, while this mini safe is ideal for a tween who is beyond the typical ceramic piggy bank but still needs a place to store that allowance.
The Decorate Your Own Bank - Again, a great idea for a gift, we have these paint-your-own piggy bank kits. They aren't the largest banks you can find, but a pretty good size for a first bank for some little gal. Check out the classic pig or the Hello Kitty bank.
The Really Make Your Own From Scratch Bank - Forget the store-bought variety and really make your own. Grab a mason jar and some paint, stickers, that Be-Dazzler! Have your kiddo decorate the outside with anything that she loves - rainbows, butterflies, dinosaurs, mottos - and then cut a slot in the jar lid. Voila! Your own unique, like-no-other-in-the-world bank.
What kind of piggy bank do your kids have? Will you have them make their own? Show us pics!

Mine don't have them anymore. DH and I do, though. I use an empty half-pint jar and DH has a beer stein.

My mother got my daughter her first piggy bank.. its pink (of course) and plastic.. very colorful :) she loves it.
My son has a bank account.. but when he was smaller he had a piggy bank that was automated (he still has it, but he does not use it) and it would talk to him and tell him how much he had.
OMG! this is so adorable!.. you baby is so cute and that bank is too much! :)) thanks for sharing

My son has a puppy bank. Here is a link to a video of my son using it. Can someone on the computer embed it?
