The point where a newer car is less than the costs of repairs - or when youve saved enough to get a newer one. ;)

Or until you just HAVE to. We are in a crappy spot too, so I know financing is sometimes essential.

Not a good question to ask me.  I am always thinking I need a new car.  I have a 2005 and it runs great, but my head is really set on wanting a new car.

I agree..... we normally keep cars until they die or they no longer work for our needs.

My 2 door college car with no AC just went to our 16yo.... our old truck had 90K and broke twice in a year with repairs totalling $4K... we didn't fix it the 2nd time, but got a new one instead.

I want to keep a car as long as possibly. Get every last mile out of it!

we just bought a new one. we had a durango and thought the transmission was getting ready to go in it. it was about ten years old and done a great job for us so we traded for a new durango.  just be sure you get gap insurance on it in case something happens to it you dont lose your value to the car.

We have a 1997 Ford Exepidtion with 230,000 miles on it.  We are still using it.  We will need to buy a new truck.  We have a camper to pull with it so we need a certain size vehicle for this.  We just don't want to take a loan out to buy a $40,000 vehicle right now.  Dh is deteremined to get 300,000 out of this truck.  LOL!!!
