We did and then we had two major accidents this spring and summer plus some unexpected medical bills.  Rebuilding the fund. Blah!

We are managing, but this ecomony has hit us with one challenge after another.   I realy wish we had saved more when things were more stable / predictable.    We have managed to save 3 mortgage payments + $1000.    We are following Dave Ramsey's advice except we are saving and paying down debt at the same time since our employment status has been unpredictable, I would rather have cash saved than paid off credit cards.  

When we finally get through all of this.... I will want to save 2 years worth since it has been so stressful.

We did, but had an emergency and had to use it.  We are working on building it back now.

We just started the Dave Ramsey thing.  So we now have a 1,000 set aside for an emergency fund.  Our next step is going to be paying off all our debt except the house. At that point we will start our 6mo emergency fund.
