Once a week we make sure that we have a date night where after the kids go to bed we make a special meal for the two of us and watch a movie and just enjoy eachothers company. But when we actually do go out we like to basically do anything we can - we have just gone on a walk, we have gone to a restaurant for dessert, sometimes we catch a movie and sometimes we just go out for dinner just the two of us :) There is a go-kart place that will be opening up just down the road from us and we want to go do that one of these days as a date night :)
the park for a picnic or we do the 2 for $20 deals
We like to go antique sight-seeing. I say sight-seeing because we rarely buy, but enjoy seeing items from the past.
Likewise, we have fun going to estate sales, Goodwill, St. Vincent De Paul, etc.
Best part: You spend a lot of time browsing and when/if you decide to buy, it's really cheap!
We hardly ever go on dates. Dh likes to take the dog on a hike...I don't really care for that but I like to spend time with him so I compromise lol.
Most of the time we just grab something to eat and watch a movie at home if we're kid-less for the night lol.
My favorite cheap date is taking the jeep off-roading, finding a secluded place and, uh, eh-hem =) under the stars.

By far my favorite. The kids were with the grandparents and we decided on a late night drive to the beach about an hour away. We walked barefoot in the sand, held hands, talked, laughed and picked up shells that would have normally been picked up in the morning by beach goers. It was us back to where we started. Our very first date when we were 13 was a trip to the beach with his parents. Loved every second.
We have afternoon "dates" where we pack a picnic and go to the park. I love it because we spend time outdoors, aren't buying expensive, bad food, and there are no distractions like phones and email.
