I love saving money on birthday cakes! I just love it. I was feeling lazy with all that's been going on lately, so I was about to BUY my girls' a birthday cake. They share a party since their birthdays are only 4 days apart, so this was just going to be my way to take the easy way out this year. I looked at the 1/4 sheet cakes that were just the old fashioned ones with flowers, or balloons on the edges/corners. They wanted $21 for them!! (Now these are the only store cakes I'd eat because they actually taste decent, and I know I could have gotten them cheaper at Walmart, but I don't like the taste of the cake). The specialty cakes that actually look nice were $50! So I sucked it up, spent $10 on supplies and made my girls' cakes. I not only saved $11, but I was able to give my girls exactly what they wanted for their birthday cakes. I love being able to make my own cakes - even though it does take work and I end up staying up till 3 am doing it.
those cakes are really pretty...wish i was able to do birthday cakes that my boys wanted but im not any good at making them.
You're a GREAT mom & you did an amazing job. I bet they came out better than what you would have bought at any store! You may be on to a new business??
