Save Money at the Grocery Store - Do you have any tips for saving cash at the grocery store?
Previously we talked about using coupon sites to save money at the grocery store. Today I lucked into another frugal shopping tip from Real Simple...
Shoppers are advised to choose products on the top and bottom shelves (instead of in the middle). Apparently, stores stock the most expensive products at eye-level.
The reason for this is practical, really: Bigger sizes of groceries
(which offer a lower price per unit) are stored above and below. Plus,
because most people grab whatever they see first, expensive items get
prime placement smack dab in the middle.
Not too sure how I'm going to reach those cheaper items on the top shelf, but I'll worry about that when I get to it. I'll definitely keep this tip in mind next time I'm cruising the aisles in the grocery store.
