Smarter Seasonal Spending Challenge Day 2: Get Creative

Posted by   + Show Post

Consider homemade gifts this year. These gifts don't just save you money - they're also more personal! Need some ideas? Bake cookies, make a big batch of hot chocolate, or print a photo and find a nice frame.  If you're not crafty, consider buying candles or ornaments in bulk. You can divide them up and give them to multiple people.

How will you save on gifts this year?

I already plan on doing homemade for extended family...need to decide what I'm going to try to make this year for them...I like to change it up but I do make cookies for friends.

I bake lots of gifts.  I'm not usually the one to do crafty things.

I'm not really worried about it.  We only get the kids four gifts besides stockings.  A want, a need, something to read, and something to wear.  They get plenty of other presents from famiy, and in January we will be doing Three Kings Day where they will get a new pair of shoes and a the box full of some smaller things, like more books, arts/crafts materials, etc.  They get plenty and it does not break the bank. :)

I plan early and stick to a list. I'm not crafty at all so making gifts is not an option for me
