Smarter Seasonal Spending Challenge Day 2: Get Creative

Posted by   + Show Post

Consider homemade gifts this year. These gifts don't just save you money - they're also more personal! Need some ideas? Bake cookies, make a big batch of hot chocolate, or print a photo and find a nice frame.  If you're not crafty, consider buying candles or ornaments in bulk. You can divide them up and give them to multiple people.

How will you save on gifts this year?

I love crafty gifts!  Last year, I made coasters for a bunch of people using ceramic tiles & scrapbooking cardstock.  I still have a bunch of tiles, I could do that again this year.  Or, look on Pintrest for a new idea.

I gave my son's preschool teacher coasters with ABC paper so she could incorporate them into the classroom if she wanted to.  I think she wanted them at home instead. :)

I did make a special surprise for DS#1's snack at K yesterday - I made a butterfly with a clothes pin for the body & grapes in a snack bag for the wings.  His teacher was impressed - and he liked it, too.  He asked me if I was giving him a special surprise today. lol
