Smarter Seasonal Spending Challenge Day 5: Keep the Change

Don't vacuum up those shiny coins this year! Scour the couches, raid the cars and collect those coins in a jar to supplement your holiday budget. Each time you get change back while shopping add it to your holiday jar. You'll be surprised by how much coins can add up!

Do you have a change jar? How often do you add to it (and take from it!)?

Yes, as a matter of fact I do have a change jar. I add to it all the time. Whenever I think it's getting too full or I need to pay a bill or go on a trip I cash it in.

I have 4 change jars.  I add every bit of coin to it that I find/have after shopping.

I have a big one in my sons closet. When mine gets full, I empty it into that one.

I have a change container in the kitchen and Dh has one in the laundry room.  He is better about emptying his change into the container... I usually just add to the kitchen one when I find change laying around the house.  (or in the laundry :))

Yes we do! I have a piggy bank that I keep on the dryer so I can collect loose coins from my dh's pockets before I wash or for all those coins that end up in the washer. The boys also have one as well and I have one. We call it our "Disney fund" lol. I don't think we will be taking from it for a loooooong time.

We have a 5 gallon water bottle we save our change in.  I wish I could add more to it but lately haven't been able to.
