My Mom and I did some shopping together. She had 20% off her grocery bill. I combined that discount with the sales and coupons. There was also a deal that if you spend $25 (which I definitely did), you could get a turkey for $.47/lb. Some items I bought from Aldi's because they were cheaper.

We also divide up the meal, so one person isn't stuck with all the expense. My Mom is making crunchy stuffing, sweet potatoes, razzleberry pie, and pumpkin pies. My MIL is making broccoli casserole and green bean casserole. My brothers are bringing pop. My DH's nephew and his wife are bringing the rolls. I am making the turkey, stuffing, cheesy potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread pudding, brownies. I also bought some things and made some things for the post feast social time. Dinner is at 4, but people will be hanging around until at least 11.
