Depends. I use to handwash them all but now we are eating at home more and there are too many for me to stand and handwash them all. I am 20 weeks pregnant and my belly gets in the way now too, haha. So I run the dishwasher and if it is full and I still have some big stuff that didn't fit, I will handwash those up real quick. I hate using the dishwasher because I feel like it just uses up sooo much water but at the same time, between my belly, back, and tendonitis...it physically is too painful for me to stand and wash them ALL :(

Both.  Plates, cups, bowls, eating utensils and a few mixing bowls go in the dishwasher (we do one load a day.)  Everything else is washed by hand (as they're dirtied.)

I put my foot down when I was pregnant with our 4th baby and DEMANDED a dishwasher!  I was spending 45 minutes at night doing dishes by hand!

I don't think it's lazy.  I think it's a smart use of time.

Actually, it should use the same amount if not less water if you've got an energy saver model.
