Do you hang your clothes on a line instead using electric ity with the dryer?

I always use the dryer but we recently got a new electric meter and I signed up to try to earn saver days to win gift cards. They send weekly emails on how much power we use each day. Laundry days are the highest power use days of the month. So I asked DH to put up a line in the basement. I still put them in the dryer to get out wrinkles tho.

dryer. I keep wanting to put a clothesline up out in the backyard for during the summer months though.  I couldn't hang them in the basement.

I have a drying rack and hang or dry flat pretty much everything except jeans and undergarments.  I started doing it 20+ years ago to save wear and tear on my clothes; saving electricity/money was just a bonus.  :-)

I tried airers but it meant two large airers almost permanently up in the conservatory so gave in and use dryer a lot.  I see it as my luxury as I save money best I can in all other areas.

Only in the spring and summer. There is no room in this house for constant air drying I cannot wait for warmer weather, my clothes feel way too soft to wear.

I use the dryer most of the time and a drying rack for things I don't want to put in the dryer.

only when it's 70 or warmer, otherwise they won't dry
