I can't really think of any I purposely wouldn't give to.  I usually donate to whatever charity a friend or family member might be raising funds for no matter what the cause.

I will not donate to the "third world country" children. 

Sorry but we have thousands of children in our own country that need our help and yet they want us to give hundreds of thousands to third world countries? Um, no.

I used to donate to the vietnam vets but found out they use the money from what they sell to give to the higher ups.I donate items to salvation army and red cross

...any that spend a crazy amount on fund raising.  I want my money to go to a cause, not to pay a telemarketer or for a dozen mailings a year.  I use the non-profit Charity Navigator to help me when I have a question about a specific charity.
