Quoting QuiltLover:Yes, still do it every summer...so worth the money, even though you really dont save that much, the food is better for you and it tastes good....and another thing, once you can it, you have it on hand...
Is it hard to do?I was so young I dont remember how my Mom did it
No,buy the BALL BLUEBOOK, you can probably get it from Amazon...it will give you detailed instructions....I taught myself...just remember to do EXACTLY what the book tells you to do...., skimping nothing.....it is not hard, dont be afraid to try. i do alot of tomatoes, we use them in everything...they are most easy. I also blanche and freeze alot of the veggies...give it a try....you wont turn back..
I've done it all my life. It's not hard. If you don't want to do it by yourself just find someone that has a garden that you know and ask them if you could help.
Yep, I have canned for about 30 years now.
It's not always a money saver, but it sure tastes good. It's not hard to do, just follow directions.
I have never done it but my Mom and Aunts did alot when I was a kid.
