How much does a dinner for your family(homecooked) usually cost you?

I don't know. I don't really do the math per meal.

Under $10 on average for the 4 of us.

I don't know.  Sometimes it's almost free (venison that we hunted and veggies from our garden).  Others are up to $10.

 $2-$3 for a family of 5 but we raise the majority of our produce and we butcher our own chickens, beef & pork so it really doesnt' cost much.

 It really depends on what I am making. Noodles and cottage cheese and/or noodles and cabbage is very cheap. On the higher end would be the very occasional steak which would be the highest. I am finding it very hard to keep within a budget for 6 adults.
