I'm making laundry soap with my mom! I gave her a one-cup jar of my laundry soap (dry), and she loves it! She loves the way her clothes smell and she likes the way it cleans.

I offered to give her another jar, but instead she wants me to go shopping for the ingredients and help her make her own.

That's great. I have never taken the time to make my own laundry soap. That is great that you both like it so much.

What is your recipe? I have one for wet (haven't tried) but is like a dry one too!

I love my homemade laundry soap!  My friend sells 5 gallon buckets of the soap with oxy added for $15 and it lasts my family of 10 with one occassional bedwetter 2-3 months!  Great deal for my gang.

I think I need to start doing this... I do about 5-7 loads of laundry a week and laundry detergent is so expensive.

when you make yours, how long does it last you?

One and a half cups lasts approximately 8 days. I actually had the price figured down to the cent, but I don't remember anymore. I need to do that again.

Okay. Using 55 oz Arm & Hammer washing soda, 55 oz Purex Crystals, 96 oz Sun Oxygen cleaner, and 4 oz Kirk's Castile soap (Walmart prices), it comes to 180 loads for $10.59.

If you use Oxiclean it comes to $12.57 for 180 loads *1 T each load*.
